The UNIVERS End User’s Manual was designed as a simplified guide to the
use and maintenance of a typical UNIVERS database. It is intended for use by
City, County, or Municipal employees who are charged with the task of operating
and maintaining an active installation of the UNIVERS Mass Appraisal System on
a day-to-day basis.
It is not
intended to replace the UNIVERS User’s Manual, which is a much more
comprehensive guide to the background theory, design and initial setup of a new
UNIVERS database that would typically be used by CLT personnel at the site of
a mass revaluation project.
Whenever you see the term “click” used in this manual, it refers to clicking on an
object with the LEFT mouse button of a standard 2-button mouse configured for
a right-handed user.  When it is intended for the user to click on an object with
the RIGHT mouse button, the term “right-click” will be used.
Boldfaced italicized text, which appears in all caps and is enclosed within square
brackets, is intended to signify that you should press one of the keys on a
standard IBM-type keyboard that is imprinted with that same letter, word or
[ENTER]  means you should press the “Enter” key.
[ESC]     means you should press the “Escape” key.
