79 The program is now asking us to specify what we want to use for the first Operand, which may be one of 3 things: the Card & Item Number of a factor from the Univers database; the result of another T-Calc; or some specified Constant value. “Operand” is the term for the first item in a simple equation, for example: (1st Operand) 2 (Operator) + (2nd Operand) 3 = 5 Since we are going to arrive at the final value for our T-Calc by performing a mathematical operation on the Current Total Value, we want our First Operand to be a Card & Item Number. If you look at the key at the bottom of the screen, it shows that 1 stands for a Card & Item, 2 stands for the result of another T-Calc, and 3 stands for a Constant value. Type in the number 1 and hit the [ENTER] key to specify “Card & Item” as the Type of our First Operand. Your screen should now look like the one shown below: Since we have specified Card & Item as the First Operand Type, the program is now waiting for us to input the Card Number for the factor we wish to use. Referring to our Factor Table (see p.7), we can see that Current Total Value is located at Card 1, Item 106. Type in the number 1 and hit [ENTER]. The screen should now look like the illustration at the top of the next page. |
